How do I get data from one Excel spreadsheet pulled into another?

I’m trying to get data pulled from one excel spreadsheet into another. I’m not necessarily looking for the exact details but topics and title searches I should be reading up on.

Where can I get a free spread sheet to keep track of my receipts for my taxes?

I need to find a spread sheet that allows me to organize my deductions such as gas, supplies, tools and everything I save receipts for for the year so I can organize my deductions at tax time.

Dave Ramsey and online FPU?

We have the book Total Money Makeover. We have done a spreadsheet of our budget and plan to pay the smallest bill first. We also have almost all of the 00 each. I need to know if he recommends if there are two of you should you put 00 per person in savings or as a couple? Or should we do 00? I’m not clear on that.

Also, we don’t have time with a child and activities to take a class at some location at some appointed time every week. Have you made or are you making it without taking a class or have you tried an online class and has it been helpful for you?

And one problem I have is trying not to put the extra payments towards one higher monthly payment card so we kill two birds with one stone (get rid of interest accruing card while freeing up 5 per month from the bill. We owe about 8600 on it. What is your opinion if we were able to sell enough things to pay off a majority of that card and then start the paying off of the smallest bill first?
Spock- yes, we have stopped using the cards. The money in savings we understand keeps one from using them. I’m just afraid that 00 for both of us isn’t enough. @nd- I’m not clear on the using one card to pay all the bills due every month? Could you clarify? I thought we weren’t supposed to use the cards for anything. Or is this just a way of organizing payments every month?

Also, we’ve tried the "pay your highest interestcard off" route for years. It didn’t work for us because we need more income and we also didn’t have a savings for emergencies. This is why I’m pondering paying off the highest MONTHLY credit card payment even if it is the lowest interest. It frees up the most money while getting rid of SOME interest. Make sense I hope? Thanks.

Judy-paying each card down to the 30% line is actually positive-I know that creditors like to see no more than this on your credit score and this would allow us to move to the next bill quicker and might be a little more encouraging for us
Wilma-Thanks for the focus. I think that’s what I needed to hear. I keep flip-flopping and it’s driving my husband crazy. It was a struggle to get him to be on board with this. He feels Dave’s just another guru trying to make money off the little guy. I asked him, "What IF the simplest, stupidest most obvious idea is what gets us out of debt? Is it then a stupid, dumb little idea?" I’ve been a saver in the past and I know what just 15 dollars a pay period adds up to. Before I moved out on my own I bought a car with that kind of money. Thanks again. I’m sure he will understand and be encouraged in a couple of months. He is reading the book and is in agreement with the process, so we’ll see! Can’t wait to be debt- free.
Steven F: Thanks for the clarification on the emergency fund. And you are right about behavior. We would repeatedly agree to not use the cards but something would come up and we would have to charge stuff for our child automobile repairs etc. My husband would also come home with a newly built bike every year I think. It made me not want to sacrifice if he wasn’t. Now I have the credit cards at his acceptance. We do not use them. We use the emergency fund for the first time since we got together 7 years ago. I hope this is what breaks the cycle. I never want to use credit cards again. Once we are debt-free, we MIGHT consider -on a trial basis -using a cash back rewards card. But no air miles or anything you have to wait for or that might expire. Those things are just rip-offs. Thanks for your answers everyone!

How does a spreadsheet or table sort Chinese characters?

Let’s say I had cells on a spreadsheet or table that contained Chinese characters. Would I be able to sort them in some kind of order equivalent to "alphabetical order"? I use OpenOffice. I bet they don’t have this feature. How would I get this and how would it sort if I had it? By stroke count? Radical? What?
Thanks for your help.
